Welcome
November 4th, 2007 | by admin |I’m not very good at introductions but then again this is the first post so I may as well tell you about myself. My name is Matt Marcin and I am currently attending Purdue University majoring in management and entrepreneurship. I’ve run a few different online businesses in the past three years and it’s been working for me so far.
What I want to share with you all here is how I’m doing it. I’ll be sharing my mistakes, failures and successes and providing insight as to my I made particular decisions. We all learn from our mistakes and it’s best if you can learn from other people’s mistakes. After all, it’s cheaper that way.
One of the reasons I prefer the internet as a place to do business is the low costs to start up. While running a lemonade stand isn’t very hard to start either, it’s very difficult to grow beyond your front yard. With the internet your front yard is connected to millions of others and offers the possibly to grow very quickly and affordable. With the right idea and skills, one can create wildly popular virtual products with seemingly limitless growth possibilities. Throughout this blog I will be discussing PHP and MySQL as my core web programming languages. They offer the power and flexibility that I need for what I do and are very well documented.
Over the next few days I’ll be giving you insight into developing applications for the Facebook platform.
